The NNEPC’s educational programming is primarily funded by a grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration. The grant targets the following populations:
- Native Americans
- Older adults
- Speakers of other languages
- Those in rural areas
We also have some funding to address medication abuse and childhood poisonings.
To see what we are currently working on, visit the NNEPC grant-funded projects page.
The NNEPC also offers several ongoing programs to help you share poison prevention messages in your community.
- Spike Education Program – program for kindergarten and first-grade, usually given by teachers and school nurses
- R U Prepared – in-school promotion of emergency phone numbers
- Community Partner Training – partners learn to use NNEPC toolkits to share prevention messages related to:
- Inhalant Abuse
- Medication Abuse
- Medication Safety
